By Plane
The most convenient and fastest way to get to Vigan is by plane from Manila to Laoag and then you can take the bus or van from Laoag to Vigan. Most major airlines in the country have daily flights from Manila to Laoag and vice versa.
By Car
You can also take your car and have a road trip with family, friends or both. Just prepare to pay extra for the toll rates in North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and gasoline that is enough to cover the 404.3km distance from Manila to Vigan (808.6km back and forth).
If you’ll take Macarthur Highway, travel time could be approximately 5 hours and 19minutes. Click here for some driving directions courtesy of Google Maps.
By Bus
Among all the buses that operate to and from Vigan, Partas Transit was highly recommended by our friends from Vigan. We followed their suggestion since locals usually know best. And they were right! We were looking for clean and non-smelly airconditioned bus and Partas Transit was all that.
Though just like any other buses, sleeping in it is not as comfortable as sleeping on a bed. Make sure to bring a neck pillow and blanket since it’s going to be a cold 8-10hours ride from Cubao to Vigan and vice versa including stopovers. The best time to travel is at night around 10pm.
Originally, we were after Partas Transit’s Deluxe Airconditioned Bus with its 140 degrees reclining seats for us to sleep comfortably while on the road. Unfortunately, they only had their regular airconditioned bus to Vigan when we arrived in their station.
We grabbed three tickets and immediately boarded the next available airconditioned bus rather than wait for a few hours for their Deluxe Bus. Each ticket has its own corresponding seat number to avoid overloading. Rest assured no one will take your seat.
For questions about their schedule or any other inquiries, you may contact Partas Transit using the contact details below:

Note to all: If you can afford it, take a plane to Vigan. It will save you time. My family and I took the Partas Liner and on our way back it took as 12 hours to get to Pasay City Terminal. We left vigan 12 noon. The reason is that they load and off-load passengers along the way…non-stop. I was freaking frustrated. I keep cursing the liner. Neng, 9PM na eh nasa Region 2 pa lang kami. I swear that I will never take that bus, ever again… I’d rather get a root canal.
